What is HowToLinUXitUP?
Simply put, HowToLinUXitUP is a place where everyday computer users, or experienced users, or anyone can go to learn how ro use Linux, ask questions, or find cool or interesting uses for not just Ubuntu, ubuntu-like distros, Linux Mint, or just Arch Linux, Here at HowToLinUXitUP we cover everything from the basic Linux kernel to the most advanced and versatile distros there are. In short, we cover everything. Need to know how to LinUX it UP? Come here and learn about Linux. Need to know how to do something? Check the blog for tutorials. Want to know what something is? Check out the Wiki Page (link opens new tab). Want to chat? Within the next week or so, we will have an IRC server set up, and/or possibly a Mumble/Discord channel and less likely, but maybe a slack group. If you couldn’t already tell, the HTLIU community/resources is still in the development stage, with things being set up still, etc. The Wiki is still being tested, and MediaWiki is being a bit uncooperative, so we may need to switch to DokuWiki (which infortunately is much more difficult (at least for me) to manage with my current setup, and has a bit many features that will not be taken advantage of, which results in more space used, more processing power for PHP to load the page, and more bandwidth being used. This may be insignificant, but we are currently on a free web hosting setup (thanks, 000WebHost, quite possibly (from personal experience with 40+ free web hosts) the most reliable, intuitive, and feature rich web host there is. (Link is a ref link, and each sign up helps this site get free paid plans). (Link opens new tab).) and free hosting has some limits which we need to use sparingly. We plan on switching to an actual Linux host in the cloud, but my current hosting provider was unable to keep the lights on, and I am looking for another provider where I can restore my data from hdd images. That is all I have for now, and I say, Welcome to HowToLinUXitUP, and we hope you enjoy your stay!
